Course Description
Prerequisites: PNE141, 144, with grades of B or better, successful completion of PNE142, and reading proficiency
Pharmacology I is the first of two (2) courses presenting basic principles of pharmacodynamics in association with the administration of commonly prescribed drugs. Major drug classifications are introduced as well as the purpose, complications, precautions, interactions, nursing administration, and client education. Concepts covered include foundations in pharmacology, antiinfectives and antibiotics, pain management, and cancer, respiratory, cardiovascular, hematopoietic, and immune disorders. (F, S)
