Social Welfare and Policy Services examines the historical development, philosophical orientation, and analysis of social welfare policy and services in the United States. This course orients students to the development of social work as a profession. The course focuses on the analytic and interactional strategies related to policy analysis, development, and implementation. Areas of study include domestic and global aspects of practice. A grade of “C” or better in this course is required for students who will use this as an elective for the AA Pre-Social Work endorsement. (S)
