Course Description
Prerequisites: PNE144 with a grade of "B" or better and reading proficiency
Pharmacology I is the first of two (2) courses presenting basic principles of pharmacodynamics in association with the administration of commonly prescribed drugs. Major drug classifications are introduced as well as usual and idiosyncratic effects and precautions with administration. Mathematics of drugs and solutions are emphasized. Pharmacologic topics covered include foundations in pharmacology, drugs to treat infections, pain management, multisystem disorders, respiratory disorders, cardiovascular disorders, cancer/hematopoietic disorders, lymphatic disorders, and immune disorders.
