3.25+ HS GPA, HiSET Career/College Ready, or GED 175+ within five years
ACT math score of 22+ within two years
Accuplacer Next Gen advanced algebra and functions score of 245+ within two years
Accuplacer elementary algebra score of 116+ within two years
Accuplacer college level math score of 46+ within two years
MTH128 with a grade of C or better
Departmental Approval
MTH094 Support for College Algebra can be taken concurrently if reading proficiency and one of the following requirements are met:
3.0+ HS GPA or GED 165+ within seven years
ACT math score of 20 within two years
Accuplacer Next Gen advanced algebra and functions score of 230+ within two years
Accuplacer elementary algebra score of 45+ within two years
Accuplacer college level math score of 20+ within two years

College Algebra consists of several non-sequential algebraic topics. The student will explore these topics within the realms of both the real number system and the complex number system. This course fulfills the mathematics requirement for the Associate of Arts degree. Students may only apply one of MTH134/134H or MTH141 toward graduation. A graphing calculator is required; calculators with computer algebra systems are prohibited. (F,S,Su,O)
