Course Description
CIS 125 Computer Concepts Applications
|
Pre-/corequisite: Reading proficiency
Computer Concepts and Applications prepares students with the skills required to be a successful and responsible member of today's digitally connected society. Concepts include computer software, computer hardware, cloud computing, Internet use, networking, security, and privacy. Applications include current operating systems, word processors, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations. Students may find it necessary to work in the computer lab outside of class in order to complete the assignments. Computer Concepts and Applications, with a minimum grade of a "C", fulfills the computer literacy graduation requirement for some degree seeking students. CIS125 does not meet the computer literacy requirement for the AAT or AFA degrees. Some AS, AAS degrees and some certificates may have unique course requirements to meet the institutional computer literacy requirement. Please check degree plan or with an advisor for applicability.
