Course Description
Prerequisites: SOC101 with a grade of "C" or better and reading proficiency.
Social Problems offers a sociological examination of prevalent social problems facing American society. Theoretical perspectives and research into the causes and consequences of social problems including poverty, healthcare, mental health, substance abuse, delinquency & crime, environmental issues, gender and racial inequality, population, and other social problems will be explored, leading to consideration of strategies for social change.
